What
the NMO* emdr?

*(Neurotherapy by Eye Movements).

“There are multiple little sparks of potential within you. They require only one breath to ignite into magnificent successes” S.Freud.

The NMO is a  form of behavioral and cognitive therapy. Through its so-called "integrative" method

It will gradually bring the person to the traumatic memory.

Through a series of precise questions , she is exposed sinuously and in complete safety to the trauma experienced.

The person lives  freely the situation and expose the images, situations, emotions and physical sensations.

The practitioner approaches the stage of desensitizing the traumatic memory through eye scans . This phase will last the necessary time (1h/1h30) until the traumatic and painful aspect of the memory disappears .

Self-esteem and self-esteem , linked to negative thoughts of the trauma, will also be addressed in the work phase. The idea being to regain self-confidence i

NMO * Eye Movement Neurotherapy is for therapists  confirmed and certified . This approach in psychotherapy  resulting from the technique ('emdr*),  consists in being able to treat the person as a whole "It is a strategy  therapy in its own right. Its fields of application are aimed at traumas, phobias , anxieties, fears, limiting beliefs, ocd, self-confidence , emotional dependence  and many others .... ;

or pats on the knees or auditory cues.

NMO* and the benefits of this therapy

From the first sessions, the person feels calm and lets go,  the rapid benefits of this method act on the release of tension and have demonstrated the reduction or even the disappearance of symptoms linked to post-traumatic stress. This relaxation approach makes it possible to express the event in question more freely, and gradually to see it, to feel it and to express it with a modified version "like a memory discharged from affect" it is then that the behaviors " symptoms "  experienced in the past are attenuating . You gain in quality of life.

Principles of the eye scan method

The area of  brain  where emotions are stored and where memories of traumas are retained is stimulated by a rapid sweep of the eyes from side to side. These eye movements of the Nmo* resulting from the technique of emdr, are of undeniable importance in the neurological management of memory.

When a person has experienced in the near or distant past, or even in childhood, a traumatic event , he can develop "post-traumatic stress disorder " (PTSD).  The causes can be buried.

Examples of events experienced or affected by a loved one.

  • aggression,  abuse,  accident,  mourning .

Indications for NMO treatment *( emdr )

"The NMO acts on psychological trauma (recent or old). The results are spectacular and fast . The NMO resulting from the emdr* technique is a therapeutic revolution" . It is indicated for people who have experienced a traumatic event "seen, heard, experienced or all at once" Ex  : Rape, attack, accident, aggression, violence, harassment, bereavement etc... and of which just the fact of evoking the conscious or unconscious memory "images, nightmares etc...) the memory results in persistent symptoms and handicaps the daily, this can translate into:  exaggerated fears , phobias , nocturnal nightmares, obsessive thoughts,  avoidance behavior, depression, isolation, etc.). This therapy alone is sometimes not sufficiently effective depending on the person and the trauma experienced, multidisciplinary support will be advised. NMO can also be considered in cases of depression, anguish and anxiety. This therapy is open to all ages and is suitable for children and adolescents (tapping on the knees or auditory sounds)

NMO *emdr to process what?

All the symptoms said  traumatic such  that: ( Rape , attack, accident, assault, violence, harassment , bereavement, etc., and of which nothing but the fact of evoking the conscious or unconscious memory "images, nightmares, etc.) and result in persistent symptoms,  unmanageable and handicap daily life Ex  : The  exaggerated fears , phobias , nocturnal nightmares, obsessive thoughts,  avoidance behavior, depression, etc.). and that

require immediate attention see m^me  multidisciplinary / All people with post-traumatic stress states  say, espt  dwelling on  painful memories and which do not present a traumatic character such as  listed above, can also be treated by this therapeutic method.  It is an example of significant chronic stress situations linked to "mourning, divorce, illness, dismissal" and alter the psyche, On  speak then of small trauma.

Why NMO brief therapy is useful?

NMO therapy is based on the fact that just talking about a trauma is unfortunately not enough. A person who has suffered a trauma does not want to talk about this memory and avoids any idea of reliving the traumatic scene. The NMO consists of reassuring support , adhering to a questioning protocol based on how to think differently and act ? and not the why  how?  The person will  remind of her  trauma  without forcing  solicit the verbal,  but rather all the representative registers of the situation (perceptions, emotions, physical sensations). She can express it or not.

Techniques used by the therapist

The therapeutic practice of NMO*(emdr) uses bi-alternate sensory stimulation ( eye movements , right, left) – the person simply follows  the therapist's fingers ( right to left in front of his eyes)  –, it can also be by auditory – or tactile – stimuli (tapping on the knees). The person remains seated.

Francine Shapiro American Psychologist is at the origin of this discovery and designed this method (EMDR) in order to heal the psychic traumas of her patients. This therapy that is  EMDR also makes it possible to treat neurotic problems (phobias, anxieties, depressive states, etc.) NMO Responds to this type of approach

Process and Procedures of this therapy

Several steps will be addressed during this approach. The therapist specializing in this therapeutic technique must first establish  a diagnosis "personal history of the person and his trauma",  make sure she has enough  resources  so that the trauma can be processed.  Will be discussed during the sessions, the  traumatic memories . Experiencing strong emotions is therefore common. The hypnotherapist reassures.

The person is able to tolerate these memories difficult, because the accompaniment  is framed and goes smoothly. The protocol will be repeated safely, as many times as there are badly integrated or traumatic memories.

In this approach that is the NMO*(emdr), a number of metaphors are used "a journey  towards the healing of emotions" linked to the trauma. As you move forward on the path of emotional healing, other elements, sometimes painful, may appear in memory, these are the final steps to cross to reach your final goal. Live your life more comfortably.

The NMO * the advice of a certified specialist.

A desire for deep and lasting change ? This NMO* therapy, derived from emdr, is ideal for bringing about the desired changes. It is up to the person to decide to integrate this type of brief therapy " a positive and interactive version ".  Accompaniment by a specialist practitioner certified in this method is essential ! We talk about therapy and the benefits it brings .

The work of psychic healing is activated by a scan of "right, left" eye movements . This faculty of psychological healing is linked to the brain 's faculties to modify the origin of information from the trauma. The brain has this ability to dissociate memory from emotion in order to attenuate or even make it disappear.  the suffering. You don't forget the memory, but the negative emotion associated with it. "It's as if the brain reclassified and archived , the information, the images and the feelings of negative thoughts. A way of putting distance from the past in relation to what you are experiencing in the present.  The consequences on your daily life are transformed . You will change the perception of the event, take a step back and dissociate yourself from the memory.

How many sessions are needed ?

The number and frequency of NMO (emdr) sessions vary according to the person and the type of trauma experienced. We are all different when it comes to emotional healing, so we all progress at our own pace.

The frequency of the sessions is adapted according to this. A session lasts on average 1 hour or more if first consultation and the frequency of this one can be 1 time per week to  more, depending on the availability of the person. The ideal is to schedule the weekly sessions in advance, then space them out in time

How do you feel after a session?

You can go about your business immediately after the session, even if at the start, the first session is sometimes trying. The "re-processing" of emotional information related to traumatic memories continues to infuse itself into the days to come (through dreams, other memories, sometimes other unusual emotions or nothing). A sign that deep work is taking place

From session to session, it will be easier and faster for you to integrate this therapeutic approach.
